Easels have changed quite a lot in the last 20 years. At one time, artist's studio easels were all wooden framed and fairly heavy and awkward. And if they weren't well constructed, they would require lots of "tune ups" and they would have to have screws tightened often. Wood painter's easels are still great to use in a studio, especially if you don't need to transport or move the easel around your craft room or studio. Select from A-frame and H-frame floor easels or tabletop easels for your studio or art workroom. There are also art studio bench easels so you can sit while you paint.
Now, there is a selection of lighter, metal (aluminum and steel) easels that make it easier to move the easel around your studio but these easels can hold the same large canvases - and sometimes even larger canvases. Some artists use a double easel set-up for painting on extra large paintings.
