Many watercolor easels are adjustable so they can be used when standing or sitting. They often utilize a clamping device that attaches to your drawing board, allowing you to adjust it quickly to whatever angle you need. They are usually lightweight, portable and fold up for carrying when needed for outdoor field painting. There are wooden or aluminum watercolor easels. Those made of aluminum are designed to be more portable than most of the wood easels. Attachments are designed to add to some easels to make them more suitable for watercolor painting.
